Relevant experience of 1+ yr is mandatory. - Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.   The Tower Technician III will install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber optic and microwave telecommunications equipment and systems.  As a Tower Technician III, support will be provided in the maintenance and operation of generators, HVAC, and telecommunication site infrastructures.   Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities - Understands and implements MasTec Network Solutions (MNS) Health Safety and Environmental Policies. (Safety Manual). - Understands and implements Industry standards (OSHA, TIA10-48, NATE CTS and ANSI) - Climbing towers and ladders at various heights - Erection of various tower types - Off-loading material and inventory - Preparation and cleaning of sites - Installation of new carriers on new build and existing towers - Assists in tower erection using helicopters, cranes and gin poles - Assists in the assembly of monopole, all weld and knock down self-support and guyed towers - Assists in the antenna installation of microwave parabolic 1 to 15-foot, VHF, UHF, cellular and FM broadcast antennas - Assists in the transmission line and installation of foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline and elliptical waveguide. - Assists in the installation of all aspects of ell site foundations, grounding and conduits, with electrical installations where applicable. - Serve as a mentor to new less experienced technicians - Other duties as assigned. Responsible for performing work related to the construction and maintain of poles, power lines, auxiliary facilities and equipment for the transmission and distribution of electricity. Sets a good example for newer apprentices by always following and teaching safe practices. This position supports and learns from the Lineman team and works with other personnel from the department.   Core Responsibilities - Construct, maintain, and inspect transmission and distribution of electrical or power lines.? - Provide technical skills needed for the operation and maintenance of reliable electrical services for the consumer, completing jobs with quality and timeliness.? - Provide for connecting and disconnecting, installing and removal, moving and transferring of various electrical devices on customers’ facilities, e.g., transformers, transformer banks, regulators, switches, switching devices, capacitor banks, etc.? - Route or re-route power lines over, under, or around existing lines and structures.? - Inspect and/or remove power lines that are damaged.? - Assist in carrying poles, digging holes, and other operations involved in setting or replacing poles.? - Perform line switching or sectionalizing, as directed.? - Provide backup for Class A Apprentice Lineman and assist in completion of duties.? - Responsible for timely submission of all Apprentice Program required documentation.?? - May troubleshoot electrical problems on customer equipment.? - Drive bucket truck to jobsite and maintain truck stock.? - Investigate consumer complaints and make repairs to energized electrical distribution lines, as needed.? - Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.? Minimum Qualifications - High school diploma, or equivalent. - 2 years of lineman experience. - Valid Class A CDL is required. Preferred Qualifications - 3 or more years of lineman experience. - OSHA 10 Certification. Physical Demands and Work Environment This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Underground Foreman  The Underground Foreman is responsible for both supervisory tasks as well as the physical construction/upgrade of Telecommunications/Cable systems in an outside plant environment.    Duties & Responsibilities  Provide on the job training for direct employees  Ensure project requirements are met before starting the job  Operate underground cable plows, mini excavator and pneumatic air tools (underground missiles)  Ensure site is set up correctly and in compliance with safety regulations and guidelines  Dig holes/trenches  Spot digging existing utilities  Feed cable off large reels  Rodding existing underground conduits  Ensure the workspace is clear of debris  Flagging traffic as needed    Skills & Qualifications  3+ years of experience in outside plant telecommunications required  Strong knowledge and understanding of OSHA safety requirements to complete the job(s) safely  Strong knowledge of CATV building practices required  Strong knowledge of CTV field equipment  OSHA 10 training required  Flagging certification required  Valid CPR certification required  Ability to read and understand CTV cable prints  Ability to work on call including evenings and weekends as needed  Ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced and quickly changing environment  Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions  Demonstrated leadership skills  Valid driver’s license required    Education  High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
